7/20/2019 - Made our first appearance of the year with the Mid Atlantic Modifieds at Winchester. Started 2nd and finished 2nd in the heat race. Lower radiator hose burst after the heat race. Scrambled to find a replacement and luckily found one. Started 4th in the feature and finished 6th. 7/13/2019 - Qualified 7th. Got up to 6th in the feature before the RF shock mount broke around lap 10. Held on to 6th with an evil handling car till right before the end. But, I got nipped at the checkered flag by 0.015s, finishing P7. 6/30/2019 - After my manipulation under anesthesia last week, I could finally bend my knee enough to climb in the race car. So went to Virginia Motor Speedway last night to knock the rust off. Qualified 10th (22 cars). Finished 7th in the feature. Felt good to get back in the saddle! 6/18/2019 - Knee update: Had a lot of stubborn scar tissue that was severely limiting my mobility and not going away. So this morning they knocked me out again to break it up. Seems to have gone well … big improvement. Intense PT the next couple weeks to keep the scar tissue from reforming. 3/27/2019 - Had first follow up with the surgeon and the knee seems to be healing as expected. Next follow up with the surgeon scheduled for 4/24 where (hopefully) he will adjust my brace to allow some range of motion in my leg so I can start training to get ready to get back in the race car.3/13/2019 - The start of our 2019 season temporarily put on hold due to breaking my kneecap while playing basketball. Had a 4 hr surgery yesterday (3/12) to repair and my leg will be immobilized for 6 weeks. After those 6 weeks, will likely take several more weeks to get full range of motion back.
